BEIJING, May 7 (Reuters) - Chinese electric vehicle battery giant CATL said on Thursday that it would co-develop cars based on its Panshi EV chassis with Turkish EV maker Togg, marking the first overseas supply of the Chinese EV platform.

The two companies will jointly develop three B-segment models, with the first model scheduled for mass production in 2027, according to a company statement.
Global Expansion Strategy
CATL is continuing to expand partnerships in Europe, Southeast Asia and other markets, it said in the statement, without elaborating.
Impact on Turkish Electric Vehicle Market
Support for Local EV Development
The partnership will support the development of new electric vehicles for the Turkish market, Togg said, and the models are set to be available in Turkey gradually from the middle of next year.

The EV battery specialist, the world's largest, launched the so-called "skateboard" chassis at the end of 2024, touting safety as a key selling point, as it pushes beyond batteries.
