Tuxedo Money Solutions awarded ‘Best new prepaid card product of the year’ at the Card and Payment Awards 2014

Tuxedo, a leading payment technology and prepaid card provider, has been awarded best in class for its prepaid solution at the Card and Payment Awards, announced on 6th February 2014.

Recognising excellence and innovation in the card and payments industries, the independently judged Card and Payment Awards commemorate exceptional customer service and progressive payment technologies. To receive such an accolade from the industry is significant for Tuxedo, for whom technological advancement takes great precedence.

Tuxedo took the title of ‘Best new prepaid card product of the year’, for its STA ISIC Cashcard. Building on its existing relationship with the student travel company, STA Travel, Tuxedo identified an opportunity to combine STA Travel’s International Student Identity Card (ISIC) with a prepaid travel card, creating the STA ISIC Cashcard – the first ever travel student identity card and MasterCard® Cashcard in one.

Founded in 2006, Tuxedo, launched its first prepaid product in 2007 and following strategic investment in educating consumers and businesses of the advantages of prepaid solutions, it has developed a portfolio comprising more than 800 organisations. This latest achievement affirms Tuxedo’s growing stature in the marketplace.

Tuxedo’s Chief Executive Officer, John Sharman, comments: “It is with great delight that Tuxedo accepts this award. Not only will it help to showcase our expertise in the industry, but it also serves as evidence that investment in the development of technology is key. Tuxedo is committed to continual improvement and innovation and it is this that will keep us ahead of the game. The awards are well respected within the industry and set Tuxedo in good stead as it embarks upon international expansion this year.”
