Ryan Murphy & Charles Hoare Nair

The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is delighted to announce that Ryan Murphy of Nsure Financial Planning has been awarded the Chartered Wealth Manager Scholarship 2018.

The Scholarship is awarded by the CISI Educational Trust, supported by a donation from Charles Hoare Nairne to cover the costs of the Scholarship for the foreseeable future.

The aim of the Scholarship is to help the successful candidate study towards CISI’s premier qualification, the Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification. A total of £12,500 has been awarded to winning candidates since the Scholarship was first offered in 2014/2015.

The Chartered Wealth Manager Qualification comprises three units: Financial Markets, Portfolio Construction Theory and Applied Wealth Management, normally taken over 18 months, with sittings in June and December.

Scholarship candidates were asked to submit a supporting, 400 word personal statement on why they should receive the Scholarship, with an essay of up to 1,500 words on this year’s hot topic: What is MIFID II? Who gains and who loses from its introduction?

On receiving the Scholarship, Ryan Murphy said: “The Chartered Wealth Manager qualification demands the most detailed knowledge of financial concepts so that our profession is best able to explain these ideas clearly and accurately to everyone in our society. I am honoured to receive the Hoare Nairne Scholarship 2018, which will enable me to play my part in this important task.”

Simon Culhane, Chartered FCSI and CISI CEO said: “Many congratulations to Ryan Murphy His essay in particular stood out for it’s well constructed level of debate, with pertinent references which made for an excellent and compelling read. We would like to wish Ryan every success in completing the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification and in his future career in financial services.”
