CISI ANNOUNCES NEW UK “INVEST IN YOURSELF” ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN
The Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI) is undertaking a new nationwide advertising campaign to include London, Glasgow and Leeds.
The aim of the campaign is to increase awareness of CISI, its role within the financial services industry and the benefits of membership.
The new advertising campaign, entitled “Invest in Yourself”, will run in London at Bank, London Bridge and Canary Wharf underground stations, in Glasgow Central and Leeds Rail stations over the next 4-6 weeks.
With 40,000 members in 110 countries the CISI sets examinations and offers qualifications for those working, or looking to establish a career in, the wealth management and capital markets industry.
In April 2013 CISI became the first professional body in the world to require new capital market entrants to take and pass its IntegrityMatters online test before sitting CISI exams and 15,000 candidates have now completed the IntegrityMatters online workshop and test.
The CISI introduced the initiative, supported by a national advertising campaign, to ensure that new entrants to the capital markets sector, who would be working directly with firms and clients, realise the importance of integrity and ethics from the moment they enter the industry and they appreciate that integrity comes before profitability. This measure also means that the CISI tests integrity in the wholesale, wealth management and retail financial advice industry.
As a result of the impact of the IntegrityMatters initiative the pre-examination was extended by CISI to candidates in Ireland, Europe and North America effective 1st February this year. Since its launch the test has attracted support from senior industry and public figures including Douglas Flint, HSBC Group Chairman, Martin Wheatley, CEO Financial Conduct Authority, Andrew Tyrie MP, Chair of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards, Mark Garnier MP FCSI, Member of the Parliamentary Commission on Banking Standards and Bernard Sheridan, Director Consumer Protection, of the Central Bank of Ireland.
Ruth Martin, CISI Managing Director, said: “We are keen to increase awareness of the benefit to potential members, working in the wealth management and capital markets industry, from investing in themselves with us as a Chartered body. The true professional not only takes exams but also lives up to a code of conduct, maintains their competence and takes care how they conduct themselves in and out of the workplace. “
