MORRISON & FOERSTER PARTNER LASHANN DEARCY HALL NOMINATED TO U.S. DISTRICT COURT
Morrison & Foerster announced that LaShann DeArcy Hall has been nominated by President Obama to serve on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.
The White House announced the nomination on November 12, 2014. In a statement, President Obama said of Ms. DeArcy Hall and his other nominee: “I am honoured to put forward these highly qualified candidates for the federal bench. They will be distinguished public servants and valuable additions to the United States District Court.”
The nomination will go before the U.S. Senate for confirmation.
Ms. DeArcy Hall joined Morrison & Foerster’s New York office in 2010. With over a decade of experience as a trial lawyer, she has represented Fortune 500 companies in high-stakes, complex commercial litigation. While at Morrison & Foerster, Ms. DeArcy Hall also served as a commissioner with the New York State Joint Commission on Public Ethics, which has oversight over the state’s executive and legislative branches’ compliance with ethics and lobbying laws, regulations, and guidance and as a commissioner of the New York City Taxi and Limousine Commission.
“LaShann is a highly regarded and respected lawyer, and it has been a privilege to work with her and be her partner,” said Larren M. Nashelsky, chair of Morrison & Foerster. “She has been a tremendous asset to the firm, and we are proud of the accomplishments that led to her nomination.”
Ms. DeArcy Hall received her J.D. magna cum laude in 2000 from Howard University School of Law and her B.A. in 1992 from Antioch College. She also served in the U.S. Air Force.
