GARTNER NAMES SAS A LEADER IN 2014 MAGIC QUADRANT FOR DATA QUALITY TOOLS
Gartner Inc.’s November 26, 2014 Magic Quadrant for Data Quality Tools placed SAS among its Leaders quadrant, based on SAS’ completeness of vision and ability to execute. This is the ninth consecutive year that SAS has been included.
“It’s estimated that up to 40 per cent of all strategic processes fail because of poor data quality,” said Hugo D’Ulisse, Head of Data Management at SAS UK & Ireland. “As such, SAS ensures data quality is a guaranteed output of our solutions, thereby providing the tools for both business and technical users to turn their data into insights without fear that misleading data will lead to poor business decisions.”
According to the report, “Given the scale and complexity of the data landscape, across organisations of all sizes and in all industries, tools to help automate key elements of this discipline continue to attract more interest and to grow in value. As such, the data quality tools market continues to show substantial growth, while also exhibiting innovation and change.”
Organisations are increasingly using data as an asset across multiple business units. “SAS is synonymous with usability and multidomain capabilities in addition to business-facing functionality and information stewardship support. This helps everyone within an organisation to trust their data, whether they’re managing big data, building out a data governance programme, or preparing data for analytics, reporting or visualisation,” added D’Ulisse.
SAS Data Qualityprofiles, standardises, enriches, monitors and verifies data where it lives. Limiting data extraction and movement results in a significantly faster, more secure process. SAS enables organisations to manage the entire data quality lifecycle. With data constantly flowing in and out of businesses, SAS can establish repeatable processes to build and maintain high-quality data.
