Wolters Kluwer Financial Services announced today that it has appointed Clive Pedder as managing director, Europe, Middle East & Africa (EMEA) where he will be responsible for leading the overall growth strategy of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ Finance, Risk & Compliance business in the region.
“Clive brings great experience and a track record of delivery to his role as managing director EMEA, following senior leadership positions at some of the industry’s leading financial technology companies,” said Raffi Festekjian, CEO of Wolters Kluwer Financial Services’ Finance Risk & Compliance unit. “As a leading solution provider, we have the necessary know-how to help financial institutions around the world address their finance, risk, regulatory reporting and performance challenges and Clive will play a big part in ensuring this continues.”
Clive has over three decades’ experience within the financial technology sector, most recently as executive vice president of SunGard’s Capital Markets business, having previously been a member of the senior management team of GL Trade which was sold to SunGard in 2008. Prior to this, he was COO of Misys Banking Systems, where he also served as CEO of their Wholesale Banking and Asset Management businesses. Clive’s earlier career included periods leading a private equity backed banking software house turnaround, involvement in the launch and management of various new European growth company stock markets in the mid-late nineties, and the foundation of his own consultancy business.
“I’m delighted to have joined Wolters Kluwer Financial Services to help drive the growth of the business, particularly given the challenges institutions face today in complying with regulatory requirements and improving their risk management and performance practices,” said Pedder. “We are in a very strong position with the launch of Summix, our finance, risk, regulatory reporting and performance solution suite and I am greatly looking forward to the opportunities that lay ahead.”
