YAZ EL HAKIM JOINS KORTEXT’S LEADERSHIP TEAM AS PART OF INTERNATIONAL EXPANSION PLANS
Kortext, the UK’s leading digital textbook solutions provider, has bolstered its senior leadership team with the appointment of Yaz El Hakim as education strategy and communications director. Yaz takes up the newly created role at the company’s Bournemouth headquarters from his previous position as head of UK academic partnerships for RefME.
Yaz has joined Kortext as it looks towards international expansion. As part of his new role, he will be responsible for the company’s communications and education strategies, forging strong partnerships with universities to inform the research and development of Kortext’s learning platform.
Yaz brings a wealth of experience in academic research, student experience and edtech, having previously held senior positions at the University of Winchester and global SaaS companies like Instructure (US) and RefME (UK).
Commenting on Yaz’s appointment, Kortext’s managing director Andy Alferovs said: “Yaz’s expertise makes him a perfect fit for our team as we continue delivering our vision of transforming learning and enabling more students to access learning materials from anywhere on any device.
“We’ve experienced incredible growth over the past three years and are now in an exciting phase of international expansion into new markets such as the Middle East and South Africa.
“Yaz’s direct experience of working in the sector will only strengthen our offering and enable us to help universities achieve more through digital content and learning analytics.”
Yaz added: “I am excited to be joining such a high calibre team at Kortext at a pivotal time for the business and I was really impressed with the intuitive learning platform that Kortext has created. In particular, the user centred design, which will transform the learning experience for students.”
