Waverton recruits Andrew Vaughan-Payne to expand its US business
- Andrew was previously a Senior US Equity Salesman at Lazard and Morgan Stanley
Waverton Investment Management (Waverton) has today announced that Andrew Vaughan-Payne has been appointed as US Sales Director. Based in London, Andrew will work closely with the global portfolio management team to focus specifically on developing new opportunities for private clients, trusts, charities and specialist mandates in the US.
Andrew has been brought in to lead Waverton’s business in the US, which has been identified as a specific target market for the investment management firm, and to support and build on the foundations already established there.
Hugh Grootenhuis, Chief Executive of Waverton, said: “Andrew’s arrival builds on the success we are seeing in managing US clients’ money, both in the US and in the UK. We have looked after US clients for a number of years and are regularly approached by US based advisers, whose clients want to invest in global and European equity mandates.”
Andrew Vaughan-Payne, US Sales Director, added: “I have worked with the Waverton business (formerly JOHIM) for over a decade and thoroughly enjoy the culture and way they interact with clients. From my experience, I see a significant opportunity in the US for Waverton with their solid investment returns and intelligent approach. I am therefore very much looking forward to helping to grow this business.”
Andrew joins Waverton from Lazard, in London, where he was Director of US Equities and covered UK and European clients. After graduating from York University with a degree in economics and history, he spent 16 years in institutional equity sales at companies such as Smith Barney, and Morgan Stanley. As well as working with clients in the UK and Benelux, Andrew specialised in US equities.
