Kashet Alex Wilmot Sitwell - Global Banking | FinanceAlex Wilmot-Sitwell joins “one of Europe’s most exciting FinTechs” ahead of launch

London, UK and Zug, Switzerland, 11:00am 27 June 2022: Swiss FinTech Kashet Group AG has announced Alex Wilmot-Sitwell, Perella Weinberg Partners executive and former Bank of America Merrill Lynch European president, as its chairman.

Wilmot-Sitwell brings significant international banking experience to the Kashet team, based in Switzerland’s Crypto Valley and the City of London.

Founded by Neil Kirk and Chris Jones, Kashet provides a complete set of card, domestic and international payment solutions, offering high quality digital finance for clients and private banks. It aims to build the most trusted, regulated service in the world, allowing users to transfer currencies seamlessly between both environments. The company is working with MasterCard and has already earned FCA E-Money approval ahead of its public launch this year.

Wilmot-Sitwell said: “Kashet is one of Europe’s most exciting financial technology companies, building a trusted environment for frictionless digital banking services. Focused on creating services that people love to use, this exceptional platform will allow customers to manage their finances more efficiently, while also providing partnership opportunities with private banks across Europe that need access to innovative new technology solutions.”

Wilmot-Sitwell currently serves as chairman of Perella Weinberg Partners’ UK business.  His past experience includes serving as CEO of UBS Asia Pacific and president Bank of America EMEA.  His knowledge of banking, corporate governance, and international business will aid the firm’s ambitious growth plans.

Kashet Group AG co-founder and UK CEO, Neil Kirk, said: “The globalisation of the FinTech market is increasing rapidly. As jurisdictions such as Switzerland and Singapore lead on crypto regulation, the UK is now seeking more engagement in the digital currency arena, which we are pleased to see. We are delighted to have Alex join Kashet at this exciting time and look forward to working together to bring this innovative proposition to market.”

Co-founder Chris Jones added: “Private banks that provide services to exclusive clients excel at customer service, but can be known to struggle when it comes to digital innovation. Kashet will become the tech partner of choice for these and other institutions to deliver an even greater experience.”
