New Addition to Boost MoFo’s Real Estate Platform in Germany

Morrison &Foerster is expanding its global real estate practice with the addition of ChristophFlügel, who has joined the Berlin office as counsel. His practice is focused on real estate, investment law, regulatory affairs, and compliance.

Mr. Flügel joins the firm from the leading German asset management company Union Investment, where he was head of the legal department. “As one of the top real estate practices in the world Morrison &Foerster enjoys an excellent reputation. Its global platform matches perfectly with my international experience. I look forward to adding my real estate expertise to the German practice, offering and contributing to the firm’s success,” said Mr. Flügel.

Mr. Flügel received his first state exam from the Ministry of Justice of Brandenburg in Potsdam, and the second state exam from the Ministry of Justice of Saxony in Dresden. He earned his Ph.D. at the University of Zurich, Switzerland, in the area of corporate and investment law. He also earned a diploma in theology from the North Elbian Protestant Church at the University of Hamburg.

Morrison &Foerster established its German office in fall 2013. The German team represents clients in M&A transactions, corporate and commercial litigation, antitrust and sector-specific regulation, tax issues, employment, real estate, and privacy matters. MoFo also has European offices in London and Brussels, providing extensive corporate, litigation, and capital markets experience, as well as regulatory support for global transactions.
