MILAN, April 22 (Reuters) - Revenues at eyewear maker EssilorLuxottica rose 10.8% at constant exchange rates in the first quarter, in line with market expectations, as AI glasses contributed more to growth than traditional products such as sunglasses and lenses.
Total revenues for the quarter came in at 7.13 billion euros ($8.35 billion), in line with an analyst consensus by Visible Alpha.
Sales in North America, the group’s largest market, rose 12.5% at constant exchange rates, while other regions posted high‑single‑digit growth.
Among frame brands, Ray-Ban and Oakley were the top performers, boosted by AI glasses offerings developed in partnership with Meta.
"With the third consecutive quarter of double-digit growth, we once again demonstrate the strength and relevance of our strategy and our ability to deliver against it", CEO Francesco Milleri and Deputy CEO Paul du Saillant said in a statement.
The Franco-Italian company confirmed the outlook it gave in February, which foresees solid growth in total revenues over the next five years alongside broadly aligned growth in adjusted operating profit.
