Tech entrepreneur named finalist at the first English Women’s Awards 2018

CEO of CorrosionRADAR, Dr Chiraz Ennaceur

The CEO of Midland-based CorrosionRADAR is a finalist for Entrepreneur of the Year at the first ever English Women’s Awards 2018.

ChirazEnnaceur is CEO of CorrosionRADAR, a spinout from Cranfield University, which develops remote sensors for monitoring corrosion in oil and gas pipelines. This awards honour follows a £250,000 investment from early-stage technology investor, Mercia Fund Managers in December 2017.

The English Women’s Awards 2018 aims to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of women entrepreneurs, business women, professionals, civil servants, women in uniform, charity workers and many more that help make England a greater place.

ChirazEnnaceur, CEO of CorrosionRADAR said: “I am very honoured and pleased to be a finalist at the Entrepreneur of the Year category of the English Women’s Awards 2018. This would not have been possible without the support of my CorrosionRADAR team and its commitment to the company’s vision in playing an important role in the industry’s shift to smart infrastructure and Plant 4.0. This will be achieved through CorrosionRADAR’s game-changing solution for Corrosion monitoring which is a key enabler.”

Irfan Younis, CEO of Creative Oceanic said: “The English Women’s Awards aim to celebrate the amazing breadth of talent and the hard work of female professionals and entrepreneurs in the country, whose work often goes un-recognised.

“We are very happy to see the huge engagement of the English public who have voted for their favourites to show them the appreciation they deserve. We are looking forward to welcoming inspiring women at the ceremony and delivering another enjoyable event. We wish all the finalists the best of luck.”

The glamorous event promises to be an inspiring and memorable night in this year’s events calendar. Numerous prestigious accolades will be awarded to the most deserving women, including CEO of the Year, Creative Industries Leader of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and many more.

The awards were introduce after the enormous success and the positive feedback received from the public at the Scottish Women’s Awards 2017. The number of nominations received from the English public over the past months was overwhelming and the full list with finalists has now been compiled.

CorrosionRADAR will find out if they have managed to win the competition and grab an accolade at the black tie ceremony at Athena in Leicester, on Thursday 26 June.
