Metro Bank, the revolution in British banking, is bringing its award-winning customer service to Watford, with the opening of its 56th seven-day-a-week store. To celebrate its arrival, the bank is inviting local residents and businesses to a two-day long party on Friday 25 and Saturday 26 May.

With festivities kicking off from 8am Friday, local people are in for a treat, with a five-star line up, including sassy stilt walkers, a DJ on the decks and a delightful dog show. Hosted by the store’s Local Director, Richard Gann, and Store Manager, Shane Connolly, the brand-new store can be found at 113 High Street, WD17 2DQ.

Maria Manion, Chief Executive, Watford BID said: “We’ve been working closely with Metro Bank since they announced they were coming to Watford, and we are very much looking forward to them being part of the town’s business community.”

Craig Donaldson, CEO at Metro Bank commented: “We’ve had our sights set on Watford for some time now, so we are delighted to be opening our new store in just a few weeks’ – our first this year. Creating around 25 new jobs for local people, the store will provide both residents and businesses alike with a truly customer-focussed bank, and something very different from what they’ve experienced before. I look forward to welcoming Watford to the Banking Revolution.”

Watford residents will be able to pop in without an appointment and in most cases, open a personal or business account on-the-spot, leaving with a printed debit card, along with internet and mobile banking all set-up. What’s more, the store will act as a real community hub, hosting a range of networking, charity, and family events throughout the year, as well as its free financial education programme for children, Money Zones.

All stores are open at the most convenient time for local residents and businesses, from 8am to 8pm Monday to Fridays, 8am to 6pm on Saturdays, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays and bank holidays, 362 days a year.

Metro Bank customers also benefit from an award-winning app, 24/7 contact centre manned by people not machines, and online banking.
