Venable LLP is pleased to announce that Craig A. Thompson, partner in the firm’s Products Liability and Mass Torts practice, has been elected to serve as president of the International Association of Defense Counsel (IADC).

Founded in 1920, the IADC is the preeminent invitation-only global legal organization for attorneys who represent corporate and insurance interests.

 Its members hail from six continents, 51 countries and territories, and all 50 U.S. states.  The Association’s core purposes are to enhance the development of skills, promote professionalism, and facilitate camaraderie among its members, their clients, and the broader civil justice community.  The IADC is committed to respecting the rule of law and improving civil justice.

Mr. Thompson was elected during the IADC’s annual meeting in Lisbon, Portugal, and will serve a one-year term.
