KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA – 14 August 2024 – Coffex Coffee Malaysia is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the Coffee, Planet & Us 2024 (C.P.U. 2024) event, an impactful gathering dedicated to promoting sustainability within the coffee industry. Held at Tap Room, Bamboo Hills, this exclusive event brought together key industry leaders, sustainable farming advocates, and coffee enthusiasts to address the urgent challenges of climate change and introduce the foundational ideas behind the MONO Origine movement.
We were honoured to have H.E. Ronald Ekitela, the High Commissioner of Kenya, join us for this significant event. His presence added an important global perspective to the discussions, reflecting the widespread importance of sustainability in coffee production.
MONO Origine: A Movement Towards Sustainable Change
C.P.U. 2024, an event served as a platform to introduce the MONO Origine movement, driven by the utter commitment to advancing sustainable practices and ethical sourcing in the coffee industry. The event highlighted the genesis of MONO and the potential of MONO Origine to contribute to reversing the effects of climate change through conscious consumption, and sustainable coffee production.

- Industry Insights and Sustainable Practices: Presentations from top Brazilian coffee producer Marcos Croce of Fazenda Ambiental Fortaleza (FAF) provided attendees with comprehensive knowledge on agro-forestry and regenerative farming which is crucial for combating climate change, and Angel Barrera from Belco Colombia, delivered a valuable presentation highlighting his expertise and dedication to the development of a sustainable and high-quality coffee supply chain.
- Success Stories from Industry Leaders: Jason Loo from Contour captivated the audience with his humble success story and journey, while Terence Ho from Zus Coffee emphasized the critical importance of integrating sustainability into the coffee industry as a cornerstone for long-term success.
- Ethical Sourcing and ESG Compliance: The event highlighted the significance of ethical sourcing and ESG compliance in the coffee industry, providing attendees with a better understanding of how these practices contribute to environmental sustainability and improved livelihoods for farmers.
