B-Hive, a collaborative innovation platform for financial institutions and fintechs, invites European top-tier banks, insurers and key players in financial services to Belgium for its Digital Week on September 24-30.

Located in the heart of Europe, Belgium will be the stage of B-Hive’s Digital Week, aimed at giving start-ups and scale-ups an opportunity to connect with Europe’s most influential financial players. Digital Week features three key events namely the B-Hive Fintech Hackathon, Digital Finance Europe and SuperNova.

The Digital Week kicks off with the B-Hive Fintech Hackathon co-organized with five major European banks and insurers – BNP Paribas Fortis, Ageas, Allianz, AXA and Ethias. This two-day hackathon aims to generate ingenious and well-thought-out business solutions tackling three challenges faced by the industry. There will be two tracks, one being a company track focusing on two challenges: pattern & fraud detection, and procurement & vendor management platform; and an open track, for any hacker to join, which will focus on financial inclusion and electronic payments adoption. Winning products and solutions will be awarded a proof-of-concept.

With more than 40 speakers, including Belgium’s Minister of Finance Johan Van Overtveldt, MEP Caroline Nagtegaal, EBF CEO Wim Mijs and B-Hive Executive Chairman Fabian Vandenreydt, Digital Finance Europe opens its doors to leading European financial services and financial technology players to join the discussion on digital transformation, technology, and innovation. DFE18, co-organized by B-Hive and the European Banking Federation (EBF), takes place at the National Bank of Belgium on September 26 and will provide opportunities to get insights from top-level speakers as well as to connect with future clients and partners.

Fabian Vandenreydt, Executive Chairman of B-Hive, says: “This is not just another fintech conference—it is an invitation for all key players in the industry to unite forces amongst the European protagonists in the financial, technological and regulatory arena to create bright outcomes. Testimonials about what really worked for others in the digital transformation journey will undoubtedly inspire others to join an effort that has no way back. I am particularly proud of this event taking place in Brussels, as part of the Digital Week, an unprecedented event in Belgium.”

The final stop of B-Hive’s Digital Week is SuperNova, a four-day event where today’s thought leaders, the most promising scale-ups in Europe, and outstanding companies from around the globe gather in Antwerp to talk, pitch and showcase.
