TOP LAWYER HONOURED AT THE DEAL MAKER AWARDS

A partner at established London law firm Joelson has been named as the winner of a 2016 Deal Maker Award.
Paul Chiappe, one of the firm’s top corporate and commercial partners, has been chosen for the award, which is run by publication Finance Monthly, for his exceptional work during 2016, in particular his work on the Urban Fresh Foods Limited transaction.
Paul has been involved in a number of major mergers and acquisitions, including Innocent Drinks acquisition by Coca Cola and Lotus Bakeries N.V.’s acquisition of Urban Fresh Foods, who are well known for their Bear and Urban Fruit brands.
During the last 12 months, Joelson’s corporate and commercial team have completed 27 corporate acquisitions/disposals with a total transaction value in excess of £335 million.
In the start-up space, Joelson have formed new professional partnerships with Jaguar Land Rover’s start-up fund InMotion and with the Nest VC accelerator programme. They have also worked on over 30 fundraising.
The Deal Maker of the Year Awards acknowledges and rewards individuals and firms who are well-known for making deals and transactions happen on the international business stage.
Speaking about his selection for the award, Paul said: “I am delighted to have been chosen by Finance Monthly for The Deal Maker Award, it is a real honour and I like to think it reflects all the hard work the team at Joelson have put in for our clients.
“2016 was a very successful year for our firm and we have assisted clients with a number of high profile transactions. I hope that 2017 is just as busy and that we are able to help more entrepreneurs and companies achieve their ambitions this year.”
