Tech Mahindra Ltd signs five year contract to support Nationwide’s digital banking strategy

Tech Mahindra Ltd., a specialist in digital transformation, consulting and business re-engineering, today announced that it has been selected by Nationwide Building Society to provide Network and Infrastructure Transformation services in a five year, partnership agreement. Tech Mahindra will provide specialist resources to support Nationwide’s network upgrade and digital banking strategy, enabling the Building Society to improve efficiencies across its branches and offices and to expand its customer-facing digital services.

The network upgrade underpins Nationwide’s transition to a next generation banking platform, connecting its UK retail operations, comprising around 700 branches and providing 24/7 services to more than 15 million customers. The new infrastructure supports Nationwide’s vision for digital transformation, enhancing the customer experience with new services in its branches, such as Nationwide NOW videoconferencing, as well as improving back-end services for staff.

With specialist technical expertise in network transformation and years of experience in project delivery within financial services, Tech Mahindra’s team will play a key role in providing core services to Nationwide’s Network department.  Tech Mahindra will work in a partnership model with Nationwide’s ecosystem of telecommunications providers, services vendors and alliances to deliver these services.

“The new partnership with Nationwide Building Society re-emphasizes Tech Mahindra’s strong value proposition for large scale network and infrastructure transformation services, working in a partnership model with other leading vendors and telecommunication providers to help the customer reach their strategic goals. We are very excited to play a key role in Nationwide’s digital journey and enhance the experience of their end customers and stakeholders. Beyond the scope of this engagement, we are confident that the similarities in the Mahindra RISE values and Nationwide PRIDE values will align to create a long and meaningful partnership” said Vikram Nair, President (Europe), Tech Mahindra Ltd.

Debra Bailey, CIO of Nationwide Building Society, said “I am delighted to welcome Tech Mahindra as a new IT partner to Nationwide. We have been impressed by the expertise Tech Mahindra have demonstrated during our commercial process. I am looking forward to seeing the impact they will make as they become a vital part of the Nationwide IT team.”
