Metro Bank is set to bring the banking revolution to Wimbledon, with the opening of its 43rd store on Friday 21st October. The award-winning bank prides itself on its high street presence, with each of its stores firmly rooted in the local community that it serves.

In the spirit of community, Metro Bank is inviting Wimbledon residents to join colleagues for its grand opening celebrations. The two-day long party will include live music, stilt walkers, dog shows, giveaways, and entertainment for the whole family.

The bank plays an active role in local communities, with each and every Metro Bank store proudly hosting a range of initiatives throughout the year to support residents and businesses, from SME networking events to its free financial education programme for schoolchildren.

Kevin Barrett, Regional Director, Metro Bank commented: “We are really excited to open in Wimbledon, bringing with us not only a truly convenient and customer focused banking alternative, but also a commitment to support the local community. Our stores play a central role in enabling us to get to know our customers, as well as supporting local residents and businesses, and I look forward to meeting everyone at our grand opening celebrations.”

Unlike any other bank in the UK, Metro Bank is open seven days a week, early until late, and provides instant account opening, along with on-the-spot card printing for lost or stolen credit or debit cards. All stores offer safe deposit boxes for customers’ valuables and free coin counting for customers and non-customers alike.

The new Wimbledon team will be led by Daniel Furby, Store Manager and Julie Baker, Local Director. The new Metro Bank store can be found at Units 1 & 2, Wimbledon Bridge House, SW19 7NW.

All Metro Bank stores are open at the most convenient time for local residents and businesses; 8am – 8pm Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm Saturday and 11am – 5pm Sundays and bank holidays, 362 days a year.
