ForeScout Technologies, Inc., a leading cybersecurity provider of continuous monitoring and mitigation solutions for Global 2000 enterprises and government organisations, has announced the appointment of FireEye CEO and Chairman David DeWalt, as vice chairman of ForeScout’s board of directors.
DeWalt brings more than 25 years of technology leadership expertise to ForeScout, most notably being president and CEO of McAfee and serving on numerous boards of directors including Delta Air and previously chairman of the board for Mandiant. ForeScout is the only cybersecurity company other than FireEye where DeWalt is serving on the board of directors, a testament to his selectiveness.
“I’m thrilled to welcome Dave to the ForeScout Board and to be working with him again,” said Michael DeCesare, CEO of ForeScout. “Dave’s one of the most successful high-tech CEOs and is a legend in the security industry. As our Vice Chairman, he’ll help the board and me set and achieve our growth strategy.”
“FireEye and ForeScout are longstanding partners with a shared vision for the next generation of security technologies and actionable intelligence required to address today’s evolving threat landscape,” said DeWalt. “The combination of a strong market demand, an excellent product, and the previous success Mike and I have had creating enormous value for customers and investors creates a perfect opportunity for ForeScout to become a key player in our industry.”

ForeScout helps organisations reduce their security vulnerabilities with comprehensive visibility for both agent and agentless devices, increase security posture with multi-vendor orchestration and protect valuable assets with automated enforcement. This combination is critical to address the security risks associated with the Internet of Things (IoT), BYOD and the lack of integration across cybersecurity products.
“ForeScout is at a tipping point in its evolution,” said Chairman of the Board and Co-Founder, HezyYeshurun. “CounterACT is both proven and essential to keeping today’s cybercriminals at bay. By having Dave join our board, we now get to take our impact to the next level.”
ForeScout has also recently appointed Rob Greer as its chief marketing officer. Former vice president and general manager of the Network Security division of HP Software, Greer brings ForeScout over 20 years of executive experience, with previous roles at companies including Symantec, ClearApp, Helius and SonicWALL, as well as HP Software.
Greer’s primary mission at ForeScout is to facilitate growth and increase sales through brand recognition, demand generation and sales enablement activities that foster a competitive advantage. Most importantly, he will assume the voice of the customer across the company.
“When I became CEO and President of ForeScout I made it a top priority to strengthen the company’s leadership team. We owed our customers and partners the most diverse and experienced security expertise available. I wanted leaders with solid track records in strategy, marketing, and corporate growth – but also team players that appreciate one another’s strengths and know how to collaborate to win. Now we have that lineup signed and delivered,” said Michael DeCesare, CEO of ForeScout.
“This management team means real, specific benefits for ForeScout customers. Having spent years at a variety of technology and consulting companies, not just security concerns, they bring broad perspective. They respect each other’s skills and the power of team play, so they can make things happen for you fast. While all could have had their pick of executive jobs, all opted to join ForeScout because our size and growth trajectory offer an opportunity to lead the security market. And they take commitments to customers extremely seriously,” he continued.
