Evergreen Pacific Insurance Corporation to Acquire Majority Interest in Synergy Health ServicesPublished : 6 years ago, on
Evergreen Pacific Insurance Corporation (“EPIC”), announces it has signed a binding agreement to acquire a majority interest in Synergy Health Services (“Synergy”), subject to completion of customary due diligence.
Synergy Health Services Inc. est. 2012, owns and operates multi-disciplinary wellness centres in Ontario, Canada, which provide evidence-based natural healthcare to clients, combining traditional medical pain management with allied health services.
Robert Wilson, CEO of Evergreen Pacific Insurance Corporation, commented, “Synergy Health Service’s care philosophy is aligned with EPIC’s focus on improved patient outcomes. We plan to combine our innovative insurance products and other patient-focused resources to improve client experiences.”
Mr. Wilson continued, “The addition of Synergy to the EPIC family of companies incorporates complementary and alternative health leadership including the clinical application of natural pain solutions and cannabinoid therapeutics. Dr. Ira Price, the founder of Synergy Health Services, is a recognized leader in the development of protocols for the clinical application of cannabinoids.”
On June 14, EPIC subsidiary Markers Insurance announced it will introduce Canada’s first guaranteed issue insurance product for individuals providing coverage for medical cannabis prescriptions.
Mr. Wilson commented, “Similar to the way dentists are reimbursed by dental care insurers, licensed medical cannabis producers will be paid directly by the insurer and patients will never be out of pocket for the cost of their prescriptions. The policies we offer will be customized to each insured’s actual requirements with no caps or restrictions based on pre-existing conditions.”
Dr. Price commented, “Synergy Health Services is excited to become a member of the EPIC family. Ultimately, this is all about the patient, and ensuring patients have the information, resources, access to medical practitioners, and the health and wellness products and services they need. Synergy has long believed that insurance coverage for patients seeking natural care treatment options will be a game changer.”
Dr. Ira Price MD, FRCPC is an Assistant Clinical Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine through the Department of Internal Medicine at McMaster University. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons trained in Emergency Medicine, with a Fellowship in Sports Medicine.
