devolo will be showcasing the next major updates for its smart home system Home Control at IFA 2017.
Smart Home technology is expected to be one of the main themes at IFA this year. devolo Home Control provides an easy-to-use, DIY solution for improving safety, comfort and energy savings in the home.
The Z-Wave based system offers a comprehensive package of twelve components including devices for adjusting light settings, monitoring temperatures and providing automated home security alerts. All Home Control systems can be expanded at any time with additional components and can be integrated with other systems including Phillips Hue smart lighting control. Home Control is also open to third-party manufacturers such as Amazon Alexa. Thanks to the smart wizard, devolo Home Control can now be controlled easily via speech.
New functionality added to Home Control
As part of the next major update, the Home Control app will include geofencing functionality. With this additional feature the Home Control system will update the desired settings automatically, offering even greater convenience to users. For example, if no one is home, the alarm function is activated and the heating is turned down. This function also operates in the opposite manner. When you get close to home, the heating is turned up in living room, the lights switch on and the stereo starts automatically.
