Woolley brings 20 years of trade and commodity finance experience to the Bank

Bank Leumi (UK), the multi-specialist London-based subsidiary of Israel’s largest international bank, has welcomed Anne-Marie Woolley as its new Trade Finance Consultant.

Over the last 20 years, Woolley has focused on global trade and commodity finance, particularly in emerging markets. She was most recently Head of Energy & Metals at the Global Commodity Finance department of the London branch of Nedbank, managing teams based in London and Johannesburg. Holding senior leadership positions there and at Standard Bank, the last decade has seen her setting strategy for the sales and product management of a broad suite of trade services and commodity finance products. Woolley joined Standard Chartered in 2004, after 23 years with Barclays. With more than 35 years of experience in the financial industry – above all, in corporate and institutional banking – Woolley is now an independent trade finance consultant.

“I’m looking forward to consulting for Bank Leumi,” says Woolley. “The team here in London is highly professional, well-connected in the industry, and above all knows its clients’ markets – crucial to financing trade.”

Gil Karni, Chief Executive Officer at Bank Leumi (UK), comments: “We are very happy to be able to tap Anne-Marie’s expertise. This strategic decision will help the Bank strengthen our close partnerships and develop new ones with companies who are looking to trade with Israel, as we facilitate their import and export activity in the UK, Europe and beyond. Anne-Marie’s knowledge and practical business experience of the industry will be great assets to our team and, by extension, to our clients.”
