ACCA appoints new head of Western Europe
Abdul Goffar is the new head of ACCA Western Europe, covering a portfolio of countries across mainland Europe including Cyprus, Greece, Malta, and Spain.
Julie Hotchkiss, director – ACCA Western Europe and Americas says of his appointment:
‘Abdul brings a wealth of understanding of ACCA’s markets and our strategy to be number one in developing the profession the world needs. Abdul’s an experienced business relationship expert, someone who’s built his experience in-house while also having great external contacts.’
Commenting on his role, Abdul says: ‘I’ve built a great career at ACCA, securing a deep understanding of the accountancy profession globally and across Western Europe. Our strategy across Western Europe is to work in partnership with the national institutes to help to build a sustainable accountancy profession, working also with employers, learning providers and other stakeholders in the region. I’ll be working with a talented team, directed by Julie, and I’m really pleased to be continuing my career here at ACCA.’
Abdul has worked at ACCA since 2010, joining the global professional body for accountants from the Chartered Management Institute as a business relationship manager. Abdul’s new role will focus on market development, with responsibility for ACCA members and students, alongside employers, universities, learning providers and all local Institutes across Europe.
