New European PoP driven by major customer wins

Zayo Group Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: ZAYO) has extended its portfolio of services to Manchester, U.K. with a success-based PoP (point of presence) to support strong customer demand. Initial sales include a multinational content provider and a Pan-European systems integrator.

The new capabilities support customer need for diverse connectivity between North America and Europe that bypasses London. The PoP offers more than 100,000 businesses in the Greater Manchester area access to Zayo’s communications infrastructure services, including wavelengths, Ethernet and IP. As the build-out is incremental to Zayo’s fibre presence in Manchester, it opens up a significant new metro market for existing and prospective customers and is expected to deliver a substantial return on investment.

“Manchester is a key metro market for the media and tech economy in the UK, and Zayo can now provide scalable bandwidth services to match the growing demands of this region,” said Alastair Kane, managing director of Northern Europe at Zayo. “Zayo is able to support locally the growing digital ecosystem in Manchester and customers can be connected globally, thereby expanding market opportunity and improving competitiveness.”

“Zayo owns and operates the underlying fibre assets, enabling complete capacity control and a greater quality of service for our customers,” commented Annette Murphy, commercial director for Zayo. “By implementing these services in Manchester, Zayo is also creating near-term opportunity for additional customers to sign on for Zayo’s lit services.”
