Seyfarth Shaw LLP announced today the arrival of partner Gregg D. Bernhard to the Real Estate practice in Los Angeles. Bernhard joins from Greenberg Traurig LLP’s Los Angeles office where he was a shareholder in the real estate and hospitality industry groups.

Bernhard’s practice focuses on U.S. and international real estate transactions. He represents owners, sellers, buyers, borrowers, landlords and tenants in all facets of real estate law, prominently working on leasing, acquisition, disposition, financing and development transactions. In addition, Bernhard has a strong background in mixed-use projects including vertical subdivisions.

“Gregg is an exceptional real estate lawyer with an impressive record in the hospitality industry, advising on a diverse range of large transactions globally,” said Paul Mattingly, chair of Seyfarth’s Real Estate department. “Gregg’s ability to close large complex real estate deals in multiple jurisdictions adds to our depth and will benefit a number of our existing clients.”

“Our real estate team is well aware of Gregg’s record of success throughout Southern California,” said Richard Mendelson, co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s Los Angeles office. “For a long time, Gregg has represented clients at a high level in multiple areas of real estate. He is an exciting addition who strengthens the many services provided by our talented team.”

Bernhard received his J.D. from the University of California at Davis School of Law and earned his B.A., cum laude, from the University of California at Los Angeles.

“The type of top tier projects that Gregg has guided to completion is truly remarkable. He is a great addition for the firm and our real estate team which continues to be a dominant force in the market,” said Aaron Lubeley, co-managing partner of Seyfarth’s Los Angeles office.

Bernhard’s arrival follows the recent addition of partner Gordon Peery who also joined the firm’s Real Estate practice in Los Angeles.
