Truffle Capital, a leading European venture capital firm aimed at creating young innovative companies and supporting their development, announced today the appointment of Patrick Kron as its new Chairman. Mr. Kron replaces Henri Moulard who becomes Honorary Chairman and has,over the past 15 years, contributed to Truffle Capital’s steady ascension.

Patrick Kron, 63, was appointed in March 2003 as Chairman and CEO of Alstom. He left Alstom in January 2016 and created his own consulting company. Graduate of the ÉcolePolytechnique and engineer from the Corps des Mines, Patrick Kron began his career at the French Ministry of Industry in 1979 before joining the Pechiney Group in 1984, where he went on to hold operational, financial and leadership positions for nearly 15 years. He then became CEO of IMERYS, a world leader in the minerals industry, from 1998 to 2003, before joining the Alstom Group. Mr. Kron is a member of the Boards of Directors of Bouygues and Sanofi, as well as of the Supervisory Board of Segula. He is also a Board Member in various artistic and philanthropic organizations. Patrick Kron is a Knight of the Legion of Honor and an Officer of the National Order of Merit.

Over his 57-year career, Henri Moulard successively served as Chairman of Lyonnaise de Banque, Neuflize ABN Amro France, and Generali France. For about ten years, Henri Moulard was also a member of the Boards of Directors of Elf Aquitaine, Unibail-Rodamco, CréditAgricole SA, Crédit Lyonnais (LCL), Credit Agricole CIB (Corporate and Investment Bank), Amundi, and the Fondation de France, where he served as treasurer for eight years. He currently sits on the Boards of Burelle SA, GFI Informatique, Neuflize Vie and SogelymDixence. Henri Moulard is an Officer of the Legion of Honor and of the National Order of Merit, as well as a Knight of the Order of Academic Palms.
