NEW ATECA SUV DELIVERS BEST EVER RESIDUAL VALUES FOR A SEAT ACCORDING TO CAPSEAT’s brand new Ateca SUV is already collecting awards for its acclaimed style, craftsmanship and performance; however, its outstanding predicted residual values – up to 59 per cent after three years/60,000 miles – will also catch the eye of prospective fleet buyers.

Automotive data experts, CAP, has announced that the new-to-range Ateca SUV is anticipated to deliver exceptional residual value in its class – or any class for that matter – retaining up to an impressive 52.6% of its value on average across the range after three years or 60,000 miles. The outstanding RV will prove enticing to fleets buyers looking for style, efficiency and quality while reducing the total cost of ownership on their next vehicles.

SEAT’s reputation for building cars with emotional, Barcelona-inspired design and engaging driving qualities continues to attract new customers to the brand, and with the Ateca, SEAT is now able to deliver an expanding range of vehicles in new sectors to meet customer needs.

The outcome of CAP’s forecasting arrives as the Ateca also draws recognition from the motoring press with various five-star verdicts, as well as the achieving the highest possible score in the Euro NCAP safety test programme, with particularly strong adult and child passenger safety combined with several driver assistance systems.

Underlining the Ateca’s low running cost credentials is its now confirmed emissions and fuel consumption figures; the first ever crossover vehicle from SEAT can deliver up to 65.7 miles per gallon on the combined cycle in 1.6 TDI 115 PS manual form while emitting just 113 grams per kilometre of CO2. The entry-level petrol engine is a naturally aspirated 1.0-litre three-cylinder TSI unit, which also produces 115 PS, offering a combined fuel economy of 54.3 mpg and emissions of 119 grams per kilometre of CO2 in ‘S’ trim.

Even the powerful 2.0 TDI 150 PS 4Drive (four-wheel-drive) XCELLENCE Manual can achieve 55.4 MPG and emits just 129 grams per kilometre of CO2.

CAP’s robust analysis sees SEAT’s first ever SUV deliver residual values that are either best or near best-in-class depending on trim level – S, SE, XCELLENCE and a ‘First Edition’– and engine choice, with the 1.0 TSI S petrol five-door achieving an astonishing predicted RV of 59 per cent after three years/60,000 miles. The range average is an extremely reassuring 52.6 per cent.

SEAT UK Head of Fleet and Business Sales, Peter McDonald, commented, “The total cost of ownership is a vital consideration of today’s fleet purchasing process, and it’s a statement of intent to announce best-in-class residual values for a number configurations of the new Ateca.

“On top of that, it’s inspiring to see that the motoring press believes it is as good as we know it be. Developing the best designs and driving experiences is at the heart of the Ateca, but we have kept true to our core SEAT values to ensure it is also cost-effective and affordable as an SUV to all fleet managers and user choosers. However, that has not come at the expense of style or technology, as the Ateca boasts a high level of innovative equipment to help fleets run efficiently and safely.”

Connectivity while driving is a necessity in today’s world, and a focal point in the development of the Ateca.

The new Ateca is street smart in every sense, making the daily routine simpler and more efficient. The new SUV comes with an Easy Connect infotainment system and Full Link Technology allows drivers to connect smartphones and easily enjoy mobile apps on the move, while the audio system – with gesture and voice control – and the wireless mobile charger makes topping up tech effortless.

The Ateca also launches with a tranche of new and innovative technologies to assist drivers and provides fleets with the safest and most practical drive possible. As well as the Top View Camera and Park Assist – helping businesses to avoid the expense of rectifying alloy wheel damage and car park dings – SEAT’s revolutionary Traffic Jam Assist automates driving in heavy stop-and-go traffic, alleviating the stress from daily commutes and urban driving. At “traffic jam speeds”, the Ateca steers, accelerates and brakes automatically. Built-in Blind Spot Detection technology makes the Ateca even safer with a practical blind spot assistant to aid drivers when changing lanes.

In the UK, the new Ateca will be priced from £17,990. The latest information on SEAT’s first SUV is available at http://www.seat.co.uk/new-cars/new-ateca/overview.html.
