Metro Bank, the UK’s leading challenger bank, is set to open its doors to the Clapham community on Friday 28th October, with the launch of its 44th store. The revolutionary high street bank is not only bringing local residents and businesses a true banking alternative, but has created 25 new jobs for local people.

To mark the occasion, the award-winning bank is inviting Clapham residents to join colleagues for its grand opening celebrations. The two-day long party will include live music, stilt walkers, dog shows, giveaways, and entertainment for the whole family.

Metro Bank prides itself on offering the very best in service and convenience and looks to recruit colleagues who have a passion for building customer relationships. Since its launch in 2010, the bank has created over 2,400 jobs and has plans to recruit hundreds more colleagues before the end of the year.

Kevin Barrett, Regional Director, Metro Bank commented: “Our customers’ experience means a great deal to us at Metro Bank, everything we do starts and ends with the customer and we’re excited to bring the Clapham community a bank that puts them first.

“When we join a new community we invest heavily to provide a truly amazing banking experience and crucial to this are our people. Not only do we create jobs for local people, but we recruit colleagues who are passionate about providing customers with unparalleled levels of service and convenience. We very much look forward to making a real difference to the way the town banks.”

Unlike any other bank in the UK, Metro Bank is open seven days a week, early until late and provides instant account opening along with on-the-spot card printing for lost or stolen credit and debit cards. All stores offer safe deposit boxes for customers’ valuables and free coin counting for customers and non-customers alike.

The new Clapham team will be led by Benji Ashiagbor, Store Manager, and Leanna McEwan, Local Director, and the store can be found at 2 – 6 St. John’s Road, Clapham, SW11 1PN.

All Metro Bank stores are open at the most convenient time for local residents and businesses; 8am – 8pm Monday – Friday, 8am – 6pm Saturday and 11am – 5pm Sundays and bank holidays, 362 days a year.
