MATTHEWS INTERNATIONAL COMPLETE IMPORTANT TRANSACTIONS WITH HELP FROM JOELSON
Well-established London law firm Joelson has represented Matthews International Corporation on the acquisition of leading UK graphics company Visual Communications Group (VGC).
The firm has been working with NASDAQ-listed Matthews International since July 2016, helping them with a number of acquisitions and restructurings in the UK.
Their latest transaction sees the acquisition of VGC, a leading graphics, platemaking and creative design company.
VGC has strong relationships with leading fast moving consumer goods brands and has long supported a number of leading retailers, which will support Matthews International’s existing creative industry brands in the UK.
Philippa Sturt, the Partner at Joelson who led the transaction team for Matthews International, said: “I am glad that our experienced team were able to assist Matthews International with their latest acquisition of Visual Communications Group.
“This represents an important step in their investment in the UK and we are delighted that they continue to use our services and rely upon our advice for their M&A activity.”
In December last year, Joelson also assisted US-based Matthews International with the purchase of Guidance Automation Limited, a creator of self-guided autonomous land-based vehicles.
Brian D. Walters, Vice-President and General Counsel of Matthews International Corporation, said: “The M&A team at Joelson were incredibly helpful in leading us through this strategic transaction.
“Throughout the negotiations and drafting process, I found the lawyers at Joelson to be exceedingly timely, thoughtful, knowledgeable, practical and well-prepared. I view them as true value-add partners and expert counsellors in M&A and beyond.”
