Leek United appoints new Finance DirectorPublished : 7 years ago, on
Leek United Building Society has appointed Andrew Morris as its new Finance Director.
Andrew has over 20 years’ experience in financial services and is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Accountants in England and Wales.
His most recent role was for three years as Head of Finance Business Partnering at Nationwide Building Society.
Prior to that, he spent more than 12 years gaining considerable and wide-ranging executive-level experience in a succession of positions with the RBS Group. This included four years as CFO and COO of Middle East and Africa, based in Dubai, and as Head of Strategic Cost Management at Coutts private bank.
Andrew originally qualified as an accountant, after gaining a BA in History and Archaeology at the University of Exeter, and going on to read Medieval History at Cambridge. More recently, he obtained a MBA from London Business School.
Andrew said: “In many ways, there are parallels with my studies and the work I now do; it’s about assimilating and making sense of a vast amount of data, and condensing it down to what really matters and being able to effectively communicate those messages.”
Born in Warwickshire, Andrew now lives in the Cotswolds with his wife, Cherry, and their two daughters.
“I am very much looking forward to being a part of the Executive team, helping to make the decisions that drive the Society forward and giving something back to the local community at the same time.”
