Four of the five charities are Bermuda-based: Family Centre, PRIDE Bermuda, Women’s Resource Centre and Bermuda National Gallery; Technoserve is in Washington, DC
Hedge Connection, the alternative investment industry’s patented platform connecting investment managers with asset allocators and organizer of Global Fund Forum 2015 in Bermuda June 22-24, has announced its selection of five charities to benefit from the conference’s “Shark Tank” style asset allocation competition, The Pitch. Each competing investment manager will donate to one of the five pre-selected charities: Family Centre,PRIDE Bermuda, Women’s Resource Centre, Bermuda National Gallery (four Bermuda-based charitable organizations) or Technoserve in Washington, DC. Hedge Connection will further support these five charities through its May 15 to June 21, 2015 stock picking contest “GFF Bermuda Challenge” organized by Portfolios with Purpose.
“We are very excited to integrate this charitable component within the asset allocation framework of our event, especially our decision to channel much of the philanthropic benefits to Bermuda-based organizations,” says Hedge Connection CEO Lisa Vioni. “It was important for us to select and support charities that serve specific causes I had identified including poverty prevention, women’s empowerment, children affected by substance abuse and arts education. In addition to the donations by participating investment managers, Hedge Connection will donate directly to each of these charities.”
