Leading global professional services firm Alvarez &Marsal(A&M) announced that Helene Willberg has joined as a Managing Director based in Stockholm. The addition of Ms.Willberg builds on the firm’s Nordic expansion strategy and addresses market demand for independent professional services offerings amidst changing pan-European regulatory requirements.

Ms.Willberg and ChristerWiberg, an A&M Stockholm-based Managing Director, will serve as co-leaders of A&M’s Nordic practice.

Recognized as a leading transaction advisory professional, Ms.Willberg advises clients on complex initial public offering (IPO) and merger and acquisition (M&A) situations, counsels multinational corporations on corporate governance and value creation issues and works with private equity firms on transaction due diligence.

Her appointment enhances A&M’s suite of services and strengthens the firm’s ability to address the complex challenges of clients in the Nordics and across Europe.

Antonio “Tony” Alvarez III, Managing Director and A&M’s European Practice leader, said, “As we’ve seen in the U.K. and Europe, and increasingly the Nordics, A&M’s platform provides an independent and attractive alternative to both companies and professionals. Our European practices have grown more than 30 percent over the past two years. Helene’s appointment solidifies A&M’s position to add value to clients seeking non-audit services and the provision of conflict-free solutions.”

Ms.Willberg has worked extensively creating transformation for companies across multiple sectors including consumer goods, manufacturing, logistics, real estate as well as the process industry. Additionally, she has served as partner in charge of audit for publicly-traded companies.

Prior to joining A&M, Ms.Willberg held numerous senior roles at KPMG including CEO of Sweden and Head of KPMG Financial Advisory Services. Ms.Willberg earned a master’s degree in business administration from the Stockholm School of Economics.

Paul Aversano, Managing Director and Global Practice Leader of A&M’s Transaction Advisory Group, said, “The addition of Helene to our Nordic team supports our expansion strategy in the region and strengthens our ability to provide an integrated diligence approach globally. Helene’s in-depth transaction knowledge and commitment to maximizing value for clients dovetails with our operational heritage and culture of driving change.”

Mr.Wiberg, said, “There is an enormous demand in the local market for professionals and offerings that are free from audit conflicts. Helene’s regional recognition combined with her understanding of local market issues and global challenges will enhance our solutions for clients and further grow our Nordic footprint.”
