Near and Deernear&dear, a leading retailer of custom faux taxidermy home décor products, celebrates its five-year anniversary this month. Faux taxidermy home décor products have become a popular trend in interior design, and Near and Deer is the largest provider of these products on the east coast.

Since opening their online store on Etsy.com in March 2011, Rick and Lindsay Baublitz have been dedicated to providing a superior experience to its customers and employees.

“We treat every customer with utmost respect, no matter if they are purchasing one small item or several hundred pieces,” Rick says. “I give all of our customers my cell phone number so they can reach me if they have any questions about their order. We strive to provide the best possible service to our customers; we want them to feel a personal bond with us and keep them as lifelong customers.”

Lindsay Baublitz began the company with her fabric covered deer heads, which enable Near and Deer to make highly customized products in any print or color. Five years later, Near and Deer has over 600 products, including deer heads, moose, antlers, turtle shells, unicorns, and many more in any color imaginable.

Rick, who is a former employee in the HVAC trade, left his former position to pursue entrepreneurship with a mission to create a company that makes employees and customers alike feel appreciated and respected. The company’s large selection of products, capability to customize pieces and superior customer service have allowed Near and Deer to grow steadily in the increasingly competitive marketplace of faux taxidermy home décor.

“Our drive to continue to add new products, responsiveness to customer inquiries and ability to build relationships with vendor partners has been crucial to our business’ success,” claims Rick.
