Damballa, the experts in advanced threat protection and containment, and ForeScout Technologies, Inc., the leading provider of pervasive network security solutions for Global 2000 enterprises and government organisations, have announced a partnership and planned technology integration between the Damballa Failsafe and ForeScout CounterACT™ platforms to enhance visibility and automate remediation of advanced threats within enterprise networks. Leveraging ForeScout ControlFabric technology, the combined solution enables enterprises to expedite time to discovery and containment and provides the manpower required to keep up with advanced threats.

Damballa’s automated breach defence system helps enterprises fill the security gap between failed prevention and their incident response. Damballa Failsafe automatically discovers and validates successful infections with certainty; so incident responders can quickly mitigate risk. As part of ForeScout’s ControlFabric Technology Partner Program, Damballa Failsafe is now integrated with ForeScout CounterACT, enabling customers to automatically quarantine or log devices deemed ‘infected’ by Damballa. Damballa provides ForeScout CounterACT with the details of the infected device for efficient, automated policy-based mitigation.

“ForeScout’s ControlFabric provides an open approach to integrate with CounterACT and deliver additional intelligence and policy coordination necessary to advance endpoint protection, continuous monitoring and mitigation capabilities,” said Paul Rolfe, vice president of alliances at Damballa. “We are delighted to partner with ForeScout as the value of the Damballa and ForeScout interoperability helps enterprises enhance incident response efficiency and minimise business risk from advanced threats.”

Based on its real-time visibility and policy-based mitigation capabilities, ForeScout CounterACT leverages the actionable information about known and unknown threats from Damballa Failsafe. CounterACT receives the malware details from Damballa Failsafe and allows enterprises to take actions based on triggered policies, which can quarantine infected endpoints, isolate the communications channels of breached systems, block the infection source or automatically install hot patches as needed on endpoints.

“We are pleased to partner with leading advanced threat detection providers, such as Damballa, as their ability to discover and confirm infections makes them a crucial part of our CounterACT ecosystem,” said Gil Friedrich, vice president of technology for ForeScout. “This integration illustrates how ForeScout’s customers and partners can leverage our ControlFabric technology to accelerate interoperability to automate policy-based action and accelerate threat containment and remediation.”

Damballa has also joined the ForeScout ControlFabric Technology Partner Program. The program allows ForeScout to further collaborate with industry-leading hardware and software vendors, examine ways to team their solutions with ForeScout CounterACT and deliver greater customer value.
