Firm acquires lease to four floors at premier location on Scioto Mile in Columbus
BakerHostetler today announced it has signed a lease agreement for approximately 62,000 square feet of space at 200 Civic Center Drive, Columbus, Ohio, on the Scioto Mile in downtown Columbus. BakerHostetler will move 74 attorneys and 49 professional staff — currently working at Capitol Square at 65 East State St. — to the new location in June 2017. CBRE represented BakerHostetler in the deal.
The building is a 14-story class A, 240,000-square-foot office building owned by Robert Meyers and Casto Partners. The new location is a “signature” building in the River South/Scioto Mile District, a $40 million redevelopment area in the heart of downtown Columbus with 145 acres of parkland and a bustling events calendar.
“As an important and longtime member of the Columbus business community, we are delighted to be moving to a place that is vital to the redevelopment of downtown,” said Ron Linville, Managing Partner of the firm’s Columbus office. “Our move into a prime location with ample greenspace and an efficient and convenient office location reinforces our commitment to the well-being of our employees, the ease of use for our clients and the future of our community.”
For more than 36 years, BakerHostetler’s Columbus office has served many of Central Ohio’s preeminent businesses and has provided counsel to manufacturers, political subdivisions, healthcare suppliers and providers, insurers, real estate developers, financial institutions, energy enterprises, transit systems, and other companies in a diverse range of industries. BakerHostetler’s unwavering commitment to client satisfaction endures as a central tenet of its culture, and the firm’s clients benefit from the resources, knowledge, and experience of a national firm with the responsiveness of a local office.
