Broadens firm’s transactional capabilities with a focus on emerging companies

COSTA MESA  — Numan Siddiqi, an attorney with more than two decades of experience handling complex transactions involving both public and private companies, has joined BakerHostetler as a partner in its Business Group, based in Costa Mesa.

Siddiqi was previously a partner at Brown Rudnick LLP.

Siddiqi’s practice consists of general corporate representations, including public and private securities offerings of debt and equity, mergers and acquisitions, finance, and ongoing counseling. Much of his work focuses on emerging companies in the life sciences, software and semiconductor sectors.

“We’re thrilled to add Numan and his broad capabilities to the team here in Costa Mesa,” said George Mooradian, the partner in charge of BakerHostetler’s Costa Mesa office. “His experience providing counsel to companies in various stages of growth will help broaden the reach of the firm’s West Coast business operation.”

“Numan is a strong addition to our growing Orange County corporate practice and to our national team,” said John Gherlein, chair of BakerHostetler’s Business Group. “His breadth of transactional and industry expertise will benefit our clients on the West Coast and across the country.”

Siddiqi received his B.A. from the University of California, Davis, and his J.D. from the University of California Berkeley School of Law.

“Joining BakerHostetler gives my clients access to a platform of professionals with a broad range of highly specific knowledge, which has become increasingly important to successfully navigate complex transactions,” Siddiqi said. “I look forward to having the benefit of the firm’s resources on the West Coast and across the country to provide outstanding service to existing and prospective clients.”

BakerHostetler’s Business Group is comprised of more than 200 business and corporate attorneys whose combined knowledge delivers creative and effective business solutions for publicly traded and privately held companies across the country and around the globe. With clients in nearly every segment of industry, its attorneys provide strategic counsel on corporate and securities matters, mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financing, real estate and bankruptcy.
