All Truck Transportation Selects Lytx DriveCam® Safety Program to Protect Its Most Valuable Asset: Its Workers

All Truck uses Lytx’s machine vision to successfully address behaviors that promote driver health and wellbeing, including seatbelt use

CHICAGO- All Truck Transportation, the Midwest’s leading local and regional truckload carrier, today announced that after a three-month head-to-head competitive trial and extensive evaluation, it has signed a five-year agreement to implement the Lytx DriveCam® safety program to protect the drivers who operate the company’s fleet of more than 350 trucks.

“Our employees are our biggest asset. We’re excited to have found a solution that has proven so effective in protecting our drivers and the communities we operate in,” said Nino Alagna, All Truck’s President. “All Truck has core values we take very seriously, and they start with safety. Because of those values, we brought high expectations and a long list of requirements to the evaluation process for our video telematics program. We needed the program to proactively protect our drivers, provide a strong return on investment, and be a true benefit to our drivers. It had to be easy to manage and efficient within our business processes while giving us insight into driver performance to help us coach.”

“We pride ourselves on being the best, and we expect the same from our suppliers,” Alagna said. “After our three-month trial, it was clear that no other video telematics company out there was as aligned with our core values, and as client-centered or as collaborative as Lytx. We’ve seen that in our results.”

In the first six months, All Truck has realized a reduction in risky behaviors that has led to fewer and less-severe collisions, while addressing key factors that can affect driver health and wellbeing, including:

• 69 percent reduction in unbelted drivers on residential roadways
• 52 percent reduction in red-light traffic violations
• 44 percent reduction in handheld cell phone use
• 69 percent reduction in smoking

Real Time

All Truck implemented Lytx’s ER-SV2 event recorder and flagship DriveCam® safety program along with the Lytx ActiveVision® service. ActiveVision uses machine learning and a precision analytics algorithm to detect and capture driving patterns consistent with distracted and drowsy driving.

“Lytx’s integrated video command center remote coaching option allows me to get in touch with my drivers quickly and removes the burden of waiting for a phone call or going out to meet them in the field, which can occupy several days,” said Don Henderson, All Truck Safety Director. “Our drivers benefit because they’re able to review coaching clips on their own time on their company tablet. The system isn’t intrusive or threatening.”

The real-time alerts All Truck drivers receive as part of the ActiveVision service encourage immediate self-correction. Lytx remains the only video telematics provider to offer integrated machine vision capabilities in a single device–proven to be effective for over two years in 55,000+ vehicles to mitigate fatigued and distracted driving.

Lytx’s DriveCam safety program combines video capture of road incidents, such as hard braking or sudden swerving, data analysis of those incidents and personalized coaching insights to improve driving behavior. The DriveCam safety solution has been associated with an up to 50 percent reduction in collisions.
Efficient

In addition to flexible coaching options and collaborative capabilities, Henderson wanted to make sure he chose a video telematics program that delivered the right amount of data and was easy to manage in order to improve efficiencies, not create more work.

“I didn’t want to add more workers to my fleet in order to manage a safety program,” said Henderson. “Other offerings in the trial gave me an excessive amount of triggers and unnecessary video. Lytx provided an actual safety solution that delivered the right clips at the right pace.”

“We’re looking forward to the exoneration capabilities of the DriveCam safety program to provide video evidence to help us protect our drivers and quickly settle claims when necessary,” said Henderson. “We also plan to use DriveCam generated event clips as a company-wide training tool when addressing large groups during regular driving meetings and other driver training sessions.”
