Renishaw Sees Iran War Disrupting Semiconductor and Mineral Supply Chains
Impact of Iran War on Renishaw's Supply Chains and Financial Performance
Supply Chain Disruptions and Rising Costs
May 6 (Reuters) - UK-based precision engineering group Renishaw on Wednesday said it was facing tight supply chains for certain semiconductors and critical materials and rising logistical costs due to the Iran war.
The two-month-long conflict has upended global supply chains and raised energy prices, leading to higher costs for businesses and consumers, while dampening sentiment.
Short-Term and Long-Term Outlook
Despite possible short-term impacts, Renishaw said it does not expect a material impact on operations for the fiscal year ending June 2026, and expects to report annual results in line with its raised forecasts given in April.
Market Conditions and Sector Performance
The company also expects positive market conditions to continue for the remainder of the year, as strong demand in certain sectors and product lines offsets weaker trends in the broader market.
Financial Results
For the third quarter ended March 31, the company reported a 14% rise in revenue to 206 million pounds ($279.9 million) at actual exchange rates.
