Barclays announces two senior Transaction Banking hires
James Binns
Barclays has hired James Binns and Robin Terry into senior roles in its Transaction Banking business, in a move to boost its Corporate Banking operations in the UK, across Europe and globally.
James joins as Global Head of Trade and Working Capital, and will focus on growing and digitising the business. He comes to Barclays from Deutsche Bank, where he was Head of Cross-Product Solutions and previously Head of Trade and Working Capital Advisory for EMEA. Prior to joining Deutsche Bank, James held a number of senior corporate banking and trade roles during a 20-year career at HSBC, working in the UK, US, Middle East and Asia.
Robin has been appointed as Vice Chairman of Cash Management, tasked with building the bank’s European cash management business alongside Head of Europe, Andres Baltar. Robin brings a wealth of experience to Barclays following 37 years at HSBC, where he was most recently Head of European Sales for Global Liquidity and Cash Management.
Dan Roberts, Head of Transaction Banking at Barclays Corporate Banking, said: “The arrival of James and Robin will accelerate the development of our trade finance and cash management propositions. We have big ambitions to grow our business in both areas, and by attracting people of their calibre to spearhead our work, we’re ideally positioned to attract new clients and do more with the companies we already support.
