Norton Rose Fulbright, MS Amlin and Eos Venture Partners launch Insurathon 2018
  • Call for entries to InsurTech start-up pitch event

Norton Rose Fulbright, MS Amlin and Eos Venture Partners are delighted to launch Insurathon 2018, a start-up and innovative business-focused pitch event.

Insurathon 2018, which will be held on Friday, November 2 in London, supports innovative technology and businesses in the insurance sector.

Entrants selected as finalists will compete for prizes of:

  • opportunity to collaborate with global specialty insurer and reinsurer MS Amlin in a proof of concept or to co-develop a minimum viable product.
  • opportunity for funding of a discretionary amount from Eos Venture Partners, a global strategic venture capital fund focused exclusively on insurance.
  • up to £25,000 of UK legal and regulatory advice from global law firm Norton Rose Fulbright.

All finalists taking part will also have the benefit of 45 minute workshop clinics provided by industry experts.

Insurathon 2018 will be hosted at MS Amlin’s London office. Find out the full entry criteria and enter.

Norton Rose Fulbright partner and head of the London InsurTech practice Nico Berry commented: “We are delighted to partner with MS Amlin and Eos Venture Partners on this second Insurathon event. Together and through Insurathon 2018 we are wholly dedicated to supporting innovation in the insurance sector. Given the fast pace at which InsurTech is developing and the wider sector’s drive for efficiency, we expect to see some fantastic entrants this year.”

Madeline Bailey, Head of Strategic Initiatives at MS Amlin, commented: “MS Amlin has been investing in new technologies and expertise to make the most of these opportunities as our world changes. This is a great initiative which gives us the opportunity to work with people and organisations from outside the insurance industry who are likely to have a different perspective. This really helps us to challenge our thinking on how we work and what is possible.”

Sam Evans, Founding Partner at Eos Venture Partners, commented: “Innovation in commercial lines represents a significant opportunity for the industry. Traditional business models are going to look very different, so it’s exciting to be part of an initiative to identify businesses at the forefront of this transformation.”

Previous Insurathon winners include Flock, a start-up offering a drone insurance product and Nexus Mutual, a blockchain-enabled peer-to-peer platform designed around a tokenised discretionary mutual structure.
