Leading international payments platform Currencycloud has today announced the appointment of Anthemis partner and payments expert Samantha Ghiotti as a new board member, to underpin Currencycloud’s ambitious international growth plans.

Samantha is a partner at Anthemis Group where she leads enterprise business development, bringing a unique blend of executive, entrepreneurial and deal-making experience to the firm.

As the founder of Anthemis’ Advisory business, she has developed and grown strategic relationships with leading financial institutions providing investments, venturing and insights. She currently sits on the board of Anthemis’ strategic investment vehicles.

Samantha’s appointment comes at a key time for Currencycloud as it continues to grow a strong presence in Europe and North America. Currencycloud will also draw on her experience as it accelerates its global expansion – having recently secured 14 partnerships in the notoriously hard-to-crack APAC market with X-Transfer and Easypay.

Mike Laven, CEO of Currencycloud, commented: “We’re very excited to have Samantha join our team of top flight advisors.  She brings a wealth of market knowledge within the payments and financial services industry, and her impressive track record taking companies global will prove to be invaluable as we step up our growth ambitions,”

Samantha Ghiotti commented: “As a partner at Anthemis, I have worked closely with Currencycloud over the past couple of years, and I have been blown away by their progress and drive. I am honoured to join the board and work with the team to develop and grow new and existing strategic relationships. This is the start of an exciting journey and one that I am very proud to be a part of.”
