Munich Airport Restarts Operations After False Alarm and Temporary Evacuation
Incident Overview and Timeline
Temporary Suspension of Flight Operations
June 7 (Reuters) - Germany's Munich airport said on Sunday it had restarted flight operations after a temporary suspension.
Resumption of Services
Following a fire department response, flight operations resumed at 10:15 p.m. (2015 GMT), the airport said in a statement on its website.
Evacuation Details
The tower at the airport was evacuated at 8:33 p.m. local time due to the smell of smoke, the airport said earlier.
Cause of the Alarm
German local media said the incident appears to have been a false alarm. The reason for the flight interruption was a report of suspected smoke odor, according to media reports.
