Aug 21 (Reuters) - Euro zone consumer confidence rose by 0.4 points in August from the July number, figures released on Friday showed.
European Commission Flash Estimate
The European Commission said a flash estimate showed euro zone consumer morale improved to -15.5 this month from -15.9 in July.
Economist Expectations
Economists polled by Reuters had expected a fall to -16.3.
Consumer Sentiment Across the European Union
In the European Union as a whole, consumer sentiment rose by 0.1 point to -15.0.
