OPTOMANY ACHEIVES PCI DSS V3 CERTIFICATION TO ENSURE PAYMENT CHAIN IS SECURE

Leading Payment Acceptance Solution Provider, Optomany Ltd, has reaffirmed its commitment to the latest payment security standards after being certified against the newly launched version 3.0 of the PCI Data Security Standards (PCI DSS) with the help of data forensics and information security experts Foregenix.

Working with Optomany, Foregenix assessed the handling of cardholder data and the security of Optomany’s payment processing environment, resulting in an Attestation of Compliance from Foregenix and confirming Optomany’s compliance with the new internationally recognised standard.

This certification will ensure that cardholder data collected by Optomany remains secure, therefore reducing the risk of compromise.

Version 3.0 is the next evolution of the standard from the Payments Council, which came into effect on 1st January 2015 and is far more comprehensive than its predecessor. Making payment security an integral part of business-as-usual activities, these changes to the PCI standards require more rigorous reviews and penetrative tests to increase security as well as customer trust.

Commenting on the certification, Marc White, Chief Security Officer at Optomany, said:

“As a Payment Acceptance Solution Provider, security is in our DNA and the protection of data is integral to our business. The in-depth assessment we undertook to obtain PCI DSS version 3.0 certification means we can assure our customers that their data is secure.”

Speaking about the significance of the new certification, Foregenix’s CEO, Andrew Henwood, said:

“This new level of compliance will provide a greater level of security for service providers and merchants, aiming to reduce the number of breaches and giving confidence to the consumer.

“Optomany has become our first client to achieve PCI DSS version 3.0 certification. Its holistic and risk based approach to security is industry leading and has enabled it to be amongst a handful of companies globally to achieve this certification and we are proud to have supported Optomany through this certification process. Foregenix is in a prime position to help other organisations understand the importance of making payment security a key part of their business.”
