THOMSON REUTERS ANNOUNCES TERMINATION OF CORPORATION TAX SOFTWARE LICENCE AND DISTRIBUTION AGREEMENT WITH SAGE

Digita Corporation Tax Advanced/ONESOURCE Corporation Tax Delivers Continuity and an Identical User Experience

Thomson Reuters, the world’s leading supplier of intelligent information for businesses and professionals, announced that an agreement permitting Sage to license and distribute Thomson Reuters’ Corporate Tax Software powered by ONESOURCE product was terminated September 7, 2014.

For accountancy practices affected by this change, the product will continue to be available from Thomson Reuters as Digita Corporation Tax Advanced powered by ONESOURCE. For other affected businesses, the software is available as ONESOURCE Corporation Tax. In each case please telephone 08450 180 906 for sales information. The solution will provide all the same features and an identical user experience plus enhanced management reporting, allowing practices and businesses to continue using software they are familiar with. It incorporates the same ONESOURCE corporation tax engine so no conversion of data or retraining is necessary.

This market leading ONESOURCE software engine helps hundreds of accountancy practices of all sizes — and more than 400 large multinational corporations including 50% of the FTSE 100 — manage ever-changing tax compliance requirements in the United Kingdom, Ireland, Netherlands, Hong Kong and New Zealand. Transparent architecture, clickable cross- references, cross-checking and reconciliations provide customers with the assurance that computations have been prepared correctly and that the risk of error has been mitigated.

Demands around corporation tax compliance are increasingly complex in today’s changing regulatory environment and the continued use of ONESOURCE gives firms and businesses the confidence that their tax processes are robust, accurate and reliable. The leading accountancy firm, Price Bailey, has been using the solution for four years. “Digita Corporation Tax Advanced is the one application that can do everything. The tax computation can be as simple or as complicated as you like,” comments Louise Fox, tax manager.

Andrew Flanagan, managing director of Digita, comments: “Digita Corporation Tax Advanced is the natural solution for accountants who want to minimise disruption and continue using corporation tax software that is powered by ONESOURCE. Our customers benefit from excellent support from a team that continually strives to deliver the highest levels of service and functionality and from integration of the product with the Digita Professional Suite.”

Paul Tooth, managing director of Sage Accountants’ Division, UK & Ireland

Sage is replacing Sage Corporation Tax (powered by ONESOURCE) with a new, internally developed solution, called simply ‘Sage Corporation Tax’. This follows the termination of the agreement under which Sage Corporation Tax (powered by ONESOURCE) was developed and supplied by Thomson Reuters.

There is a one year run-off in place to allow existing customers to migrate to the new Sage Corporation Tax solution in an easy transition. Customers will be offered the new Sage solution as their support contract comes up for renewal – and we guarantee no price increases over the next 12 months.

Extensive customer Feedback indicated the ONESOURCE product was overly complex for many of our customers. By making the decision to develop Sage Corporation Tax we have created a solution that is easier to use and which will save customers time.

We have built the new user interface to be cleaner, more modern and more consistent with the rest of our portfolio, offering familiarity for users to get up to speed quickly. The new solution will continue to deliver end-to-end workflow and data transfer from the Sage accounts production range. It will also deliver greater functionality than the previous Lite version of the software, as well as new features, so all customers will receive an easier to use solution with enhanced functionality and an overall better experience.

To ensure a smooth transition we have created a dedicated transition team as part of a comprehensive support package for all customers to guide them through the change. The support programme includes a series of customer events throughout the UK, a telephone support line, training webinars, transition support packs and assistance with installations. The transition team will call each customer to create personalised transition strategies for their practice.
