Sancus BMS Group, the alternative finance provider, have confirmed the appointment of Andrej Bristow as Credit Manager to support their specialist peer-to-peer property finance business, Funding Knight. As the firm gears up for future growth and increased regulatory focus, Andrej will be responsible for credit assessment across a broad range of funding requirements including property development finance and asset backed lending.

Funding Knight achieved full authorisation from the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) earlier this year and has recently been moved by its parent, GLI Finance, into the Sancus BMS Group, operating alongside Sancus Finance, the specialist working capital finance provider. Funding Knight shall be re-branded to Sancus Funding in 2018, to bring it fully into the Sancus BMS family.

Andrej brings a wealth of experience gained in the financial services sector to the role, having worked in both portfolio management and credit analysis roles. He joins Funding Knight from Metro Bank where his role as Commercial Analyst saw him managing risk within the portfolio of clients. Prior to that, he gained experience with Santander, RBS and ANZ Bank.

Andrej says, ““The alternative finance space is improving the accessibility of much needed competitive finance to businesses. Sancus ensures finance is provided sensibly and securely to these businesses whilst also guaranteeing the continuity of funds that investor confidence brings. I am delighted to be part of the business at this exciting stage in their development”.

The Sancus BMS Group has seen consistent growth, having provided over £700m of funding to SMEs and entrepreneurs. The business attributes this growth to delivering fast and flexible financing solutions to clients, combined with diligent risk management, providing a transparent and professional service to clients, funders and intermediaries.

Gary Mealing, Head of Credit at Funding Knight said: “We are delighted to have Andrej join our team as we continue our focus on delivering much needed alternative finance. Andrej brings a wealth of experience in managing credit and the associated ongoing risks for the business.”
