Former CEO, Sage Ireland, is appointed to help largest global App platform for accountants break into Irish market

MyFirmsApp, the largest global App platform for accountants in practice, has appointed the Dublin based, Savvy Apps, to launch the brand into the Irish market.  Savvy Apps is a new venture that has been founded by Liam Mullaney, former CEO Sage Ireland and his partner, Stephen Hogan.

Liam has extensive experience of the accountancy practice software market in Ireland and is a long-time supporter of new technologies that deliver efficiencies for accountants. The Apps developed by MyFirmsApp leverage the power of mobile technology and put the accountant right at the centre of the digital world giving firms the ability to communicate with their clients ‘anytime, anywhere and on any device’. A custom App soon becomes a go-to resource and the principal point of contact for everything connected with accounts, finance and tax.

In the four years since MyFirmsApp was formed, the company has accrued 1000 customers with 250,000 end users and has achieved 300% growth in the last 24 months. Its’ custom Apps are used by accounting firms in 8 countries including the UK, Australia and the US.

Gavin Disney-May, Chairman, MyFirmsApp commented: “We welcome Savvy Apps to the team and having worked closely with Liam while at Sage, I am confident that we have found exactly the right people to help us break into the Irish market. He and Stephen believe, like us, that 2017 is likely to be a tipping point for the accountancy profession with the landscape changing inexorably to one of automation, innovation and disruption. Working with accountants around the world in a software business that focuses on mobile technology, we know that it is the new digital world in which we all live and work that can solve the challenges facing accountants.”

“Accounting Firms all over Ireland have been progressively streamlining their interaction with their clients and MyFirmsApp is another evolution in this journey,” added Liam Mullaney.  “Business owners love it because it has everything they need to run their business in one easy to use App and accountants love it because they seamlessly take this data to their Xero, Sage or QB accounting systems. It’s a super client recruitment and retention tool for accountants and can help them protect their status as trusted advisers by counteracting ‘the Google effect’ and providing the first port of call for any questions clients may have.”
