To celebrate Jeans for Genes Day 2013, renowned UK fundraising appeal Jeans for Genes
Day have teamed up with Barclays and reality TV star and business woman, Amy Childs.

The annual fundraising event taking place today simply asks the British public, children and adults alike, to wear their jeans for the day and make a donation; in show of their support. Amy Childs and Barclays’ employees will be out in force sporting their finest denim at the Canary Wharf HQ to help the charity reach this year’s fundraising target. Barclays is a proud supporter of Jeans for Genes Day. Since 1996 staff at the bank have raised £215,000 for this worthwhile cause.

Jeans for Genes Day raises money for Genetic Disorders UK and aims to change the world for children with genetic disorders. Genetic disorders affect 1 in 25 children born in the UK
– that’s more than 30,000 babies each year. Their associated health problems mean that
genetic disorders are the biggest cause of death of children aged 14 years and under.
